Aruba, on the other hand, has a desert-like heart, with Arikok National Park full of Arawak rock paintings, mysterious caves, and vast plains full of divi-divi trees and aloe plants. And those views!

De ABC-eilanden – Aruba, Bonaire en Curaçao – zijn niet alleen zon, zee en strand (al zijn die natuurlijk heerlijk!). Wie verder kijkt, ontdekt een wereld vol ruige natuur, verborgen baaien, flamingo’s, grotten en cactussen zo groot als vlaggenmasten.
Curaçao verrast met zijn ruige noordkust, de spectaculaire kliffen van Shete Boka en de wandelpaden in het Christoffelpark, waar je (met wat geluk en zweet) de top van de Christoffelberg kunt beklimmen. Onderweg kom je leguanen, herten en misschien zelfs een zeldzame orchidee tegen.
Bonaire is een paradijs voor rustzoekers en vogelliefhebbers. In het Gotomeer bewonder je flamingo’s in het wild, en het Washington Slagbaai National Park biedt uitgestrekte natuur met cactusbossen, blowholes en afgelegen strandjes waar je soms alleen bent met de wind en de zee.
Aruba heeft dan weer een woestijnachtig hart, met het Arikok Nationaal Park vol rotstekeningen van de Arowakken, mysterieuze grotten en uitgestrekte vlaktes vol divi-divi bomen en aloëplanten. En dan die uitzichten!
Of je nu wandelt, snorkelt, vogels spot of gewoon geniet van de rust: de natuurlijke attracties van de ABC-eilanden zijn puur, verrassend en onvergetelijk mooi.
